IMPORTANT: Vampr Distribution is Shutting Down

By Bri Clark

We’ve made the difficult decision to wind down Vampr Distribution.

This service has helped many of you get your music on major streaming platforms, and we’re incredibly proud of the artists who’ve released work through it. However, to better focus on Vampr’s core mission — helping creatives connect and collaborate — we’ve decided to sunset the distribution feature.

Why is Vampr Distribution shutting down?

We’ve made this decision so we can focus all our energy on Vampr’s core mission — helping creatives connect and collaborate. Supporting a distribution platform requires ongoing technical and operational resources, and we want to ensure we’re directing those efforts toward improving the parts of the app you rely on most.

We want to make this transition as smooth as possible for you. Below you’ll find everything you need to know.

⏳ What’s happening, and when?

  • You will no longer be able to create new releases after 22nd May 2025.
  • We recommend migrating your existing releases by 30th June 2025.
  • After that date, any releases not migrated may be taken down from DSPs (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.)
  • You will still be able to log in and request royalty payouts for the 3 months following, to ensure you receive any delayed reporting from streaming services.

🔄 How do I migrate my releases?

You can choose any distributor you like. Here’s how to move your music without losing streams or playlist placements:

  1. Choose a new distributor (e.g. DistroKid, CD Baby, TuneCore)
  2. Re-upload your release using the same:
    • Artist name
    • ISRC codes (found in your existing release dashboard)
    • Track metadata and artwork
  3. Set the release live on DSPs
  4. After confirming it’s live, you can request a takedown of the Vampr version (or it will happen automatically by 30th June 2025).
NOTE: Using the same ISRC code is the key to keeping your stats and avoiding duplication.

💰 What about royalties?

  • You can continue to request payouts for royalties earned during the active period
  • Royalties are often reported 2–3 months in arrears, so we’ll ensure you have access to your account to collect any earnings
